CLAIMS MANAGEMENT

The efficient handling of Income Protection and Total & Permanent Disablement claims is a very specialised area that requires experience and practical knowledge. Organisations may find it difficult to employ technically experienced staff on a cost-effective basis, particularly where the number of claims to be assessed is relatively small.

One of the foundation concepts of ICM was to provide cost-effective, technically proficient, third-party claims management services. It allows organisations to have available, when needed, the knowledge and experience to manage disablement claims on an “as required” basis.

ICM will accept responsibility for full management of the claim from the time a claim form is received until the final payment has been made. It has access to a wide range of medical professionals who can assist in the provision of independent examinations of claimants or assessment of evidence collected.

Expense of claim management is incurred on a time spent basis. Cost efficiency also arises from effective claims management where only genuine claims are admitted.

ICM’s role as an independent assessor does not interfere in any way with the relationship between the insured person and the organisation. Whilst ICM will make recommendations regarding action to be taken in the management of claim, the final decision to implement the recommendations rests solely with the organisation.
